The date for the 10th annual Diamondback Charity Classic has been set for Monday, October 19, 2009. This year the tournament moves from May to October to coincide with the schedule of the Champions tour. George Nichols, DCC board chairman, announced that Abilene Coca-Cola will again be the Title Sponsor. This will be Coca-Cola’s sixth consecutive year as the Title Sponsor.
Charles Coody, former Masters Champion and host for this annual event, has already secured some of this tournament’s favorite professionals. Returning this year will be Howard Twitty, Dale Douglass, Doug Tewell, Lou Graham and Gil Morgan.
The Diamondback Charity Classic awarded $86,000 to the two benefiting charities, Hendrick Hospice Care and Noah Project, Inc., from the 2008 tournament proceeds. This raised the cumulative total of grants to the two charities for the nine years to $1,386,000.
