The ninth annual Diamondback Charity Classic was held on May 5, 2008 at the Diamondback Golf Club. This was the fifth year for our title sponsor, Abilene Coca Cola and the third year for our presenting sponsor, CitiBank. This tournament would not be the success it is without the help of these wonderful organizations. Through the generous support of these two sponsors along with area foundations, businesses and individuals this tournament has now raised more than 1.3 million dollars for our two charities, Hendrick Hospice Care and Noah Project which share equally in the proceeds.
The vision of Charles and Lynette Coody has turned out to be the premier golf tournament now held in Abilene. Each year the generosity of the community continues to grow. The setting of the Diamondback Golf Club gives the professional golfers from the Champion's tour and the West Texas Sectional Professionals an opportunity to play on a beautiful West Texas course and get to meet the great folks of Abilene and the surrounding areas.
